3/4 lb. ripe fresh tomatoes
1 teaspoon coarsely grated fresh ginger
2 Tablespoons peeled and chopped green mango (unripe), or 1 Tablespoon lime juice
1 scallion, finely sliced
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Cut tomatoes into 1/8-inch thick slices and arrange them in a single layer on a platter. Sprinkle the ginger, green mango/lime juice, and scallion evenly over them. Then sprinkle salt and pepper over the top to taste.
